sgcrate2.gifTexture - X/Y alignment

X-Y Alignment Information

X alignment shifts the Horizonal starting point for displaying the texture. This is used to make the texture display seamless or to make a special effect.

Y alignment shifts the Vertical starting point for displaying the texture. This is used to make the texture display seamless or to make a special effect.

A common example of Y alignment is for switches. Use the Interactive Texture Alignment to see how the texture will display in the game.

DeePsea provides three ways of aligning textures. All methods interactively display the textures with the alignments applied on the screen. This is ITA or Interactive Texture Alignment. Use the 3D aligment feature to quickly see the results of unpegging textures and to tweak your areas. It’s quickest to use the X/Y alignment tools first and then use the ingame feature to make final adjustments.

1. Via the Linedef dialog: Using the keyboard and entering values for the X and Y offsets. You can use the Page UP and Page Down keys to conveniently change 1 unit at time. Press Enter to accept the changes.

2. Via the Linedef dialog: Using the mouse and moving it over the texture. Mouse movement results in X-Y offset changes shown on the screen.

3. Use the ingame texture alignment feature: 3D Walkthrough

The right mouse button cancels and the left mouse button accepts the changes.

The Enter key also accepts the changes and the Esc key cancels.
