Find

 

LineDef Type

Find any LineDef type. Besides the obvious, one good use is to find HEXEN format specials for Scripts and other actions specific to HEXEN. If 0 is entered, all LineDef types used in the level are shown.

 

LineDef Tag

Find LineDef with the tag entered. The list shows all the LineDef tags and the LineDefs that use them. If 0 is entered, all LineDefs with tags are shown.

 

Sector Type

Find any Sector type. If 0 is entered, all Sector types used in the level are shown.

 

Sector Tag

The list shows all the unique Sector Lights in the level

 

Sector Light

Find Sector with the tag entered. The list shows all the Sector tags and the Sector that use them. If 0 is entered, all Sectors with tags are shown.

 

Thing Id

Find any thing object. If 0 is entered, all Things used in the level are shown.

 

Thing Tid

HEXEN only, find any thing Tid. If 0 is entered, all TIDs used in the level are shown.

 

Thing PolyID

HEXEN only, find any thing PolyID. If 0 is entered, all PolyIDs used in the level are shown.

 

LineDef LineID

HEXEN only, find any LineDef ID. If 0 is entered, all LineIDs used in the level are shown.

 

LineDef Arguments

HEXEN only, find from 1 to 5 LineDef arguments at the same time. Really helpful for script trouble shooting.

 

Floor Texture Name

Find any Floor/Ceiling texture. List shows by Sector the FLAT name selected.

 

Wall Texture Name

Find any Wall texture. You can limit the search to only Upper, Normal, or Lower textures. List shows by LineDef and location the texture name selected.

 

NOTE: You can have any of the above active at the same time. This is very useful if you are following tag or id associations. Move the search boxes to reveal the contents of those below the one showing (if you are doing more than one at the same time). Scrolling the search listbox will automatically bring the object into view.

 

Replace

 

 

Replace Thing

Find any Thing object and replace it with a different one. The percent replace option, replaces the percent Things matching. Use this to add new Things from DOOM levels converted to DOOM II or just for fun.

 

ReplaceFloor Texture Name

Search for any valid Floor/Ceiling texture and replace it with a different one.

 

In Sector mode, you can select a group of Sectors and replace only those selected.

 

ReplaceWall Texture Name

Search for any valid Wall texture and replace it with a different one. You limit the search to only Upper, Normal, or Lower textures.

 

In LineDef mode, you can select a group of LineDefs and replace only those selected.

 

ReplaceFloor Texture Convert

Search for any Floor/Ceiling texture including ones that do not exist and replace it with a different one. This is used for converting textures from one game to another or textures that no longer exist.

 

In Sector mode, you can select a group of Sectors and replace only those selected.

 

ReplaceWall Texture Convert

Search for any Wall texture including ones that do not exist and replace it with a different one. You limit the search to only Upper, Normal, or Lower textures. This is used for converting textures from one game to another or textures that no longer exist.

 

In LineDef mode, you can select a group of LineDefs and replace only those selected.

 

 

Repeating the last Change or Find

 

Press F to bring up the last command prompts again.
