DeePsea is designed to use many shortcuts via the keyboard. When you gain more experience you may enjoy the extra efficiency available using these shortcut keys. Press F1 in the interactive commands to see specific keys or mouse options available for that command. (A more detailed description is in the Overview of ALL commands section Overview of ALL commands.)

Editing Key Command Summary

 

These commands apply when the editor is in Map Mode and vary according to the editing mode.

Mouse Button Summary

 

The terms left , right, middle and wheel refer to the left, right or middle mouse button. Wheel refers to the wheel on mice so equipped. Add any other key as listed while the button is pressed. MB1 is usually left, MB2 is usually right.

 

Left

 

Select/unselect current object (quick click)

Draw a selection box in any Edit modes. Button is held down and mouse is moved. If you Right Click while a selection box is displayed, ZOOM to Window is activated.

Tool mode, create current object

Enter Browser Mode as noted with F2 notation. Left click in graphic shown.

Left (quick double click)

Enter drawing mode all modes, except for Thing Mode, insert Thing. If you have more than 2 objects selected, it won’t enter drawing mode to make multi-selection easier. If you want to start anyway, use Ctrl+D to start drawing.

Left+Z

Zoom-to-Window (button is held down to draw a selection box, then press Z)

Left+Right at the same time (same as Middle)

Enter Map Panning using the mouse. Press the Left mouse button, then press and release the Right mouse button. Pressing both buttons again or the Middle button or pressing Esc exits

Right

 

Edit the current/selected object(s) (quick click)

Drag the current/selected object(s) (button is held down )

Tool mode, exit after last create

Right (while Left select box active)

Zoom-to-Window. Left button is held down, a rubber band select box is drawn, then quick right click (same as left+Z)
